'American Idol' Singer Elise Testone to Release New Album

She may not have won the title of "American Idol," but after competing on the show's 11th season, Elise Testone is now hoping to be an inspiration to music lovers around the world with the upcoming release of her new album, "In This Life."

Testone, a 2001 Kinnelon High School graduate, has been hard at work on her album in between concert appearances following the conclusion of her season's "American Idol" episodes in 2012. She is self-producing the album, according to the Suburban Trends, which will feature 12 original tracks with a soulful, blues sound.

The album is set to release in June.

After a long run on the hit Fox singing competition, Testone was elimated just before the top-5 contestants were named. Her final performance was of Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love."

Throughout the competition, she received high praise from judges Steven Tyler (Aerosmith's lead singer), Randy Jackson and Jennifer Lopez, particularly for her unique raspy and bluesy voice. During one episode, J.Lo even told Testone she gave her "gooseys" with her singing.

In another episode, shots of Kinnelon filled the screen as the audience and viewers at home got a closer look at what life was like for Testone growing up. The show included a flash of Jiggs Corner Music Saloon in Butler where a group of Testone fans, family members and friends gathered to cheer her on.

Testone has found a way to incorporate her "American Idol" experience on the album. Another former contestant, Erika Van Pelt, sings back up in some of the tracks, the Trends reported.
