Child Porn Allegedly Found on Man's Computer

A man was charged Wednesday with possession and distribution of child pornography.

Joseph Giordano, 52, was arrested by the Passaic County Sheriff's Department at his Bloomingdale home, according to Sheriff Richard Berdnik. He was transported to the Passaic County jail in lieu of $50,000 bail with no 10 percent option.

Berdnik said Giordano is a customer service representative for Parsippany-based Magellan Health Services.

According to Berdnik, the Passaic County Sheriff's Department Internet Crimes Task Force has been investigating the allegations against Giordano since February, when Berdnik said Giordano sent emails that contained photographs of adult men engaged in sexual acts with boys that appeared to be under the age of 16.

Berdnik said Giordano used the email account "JUNK010" to send the messages and the messages were later reported to the sheriff's department by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Detectives identified Giordano's residence as the place of origin of the emails through an investigation, the sheriff's office said. The sheriff's department executed a search warrant Wednesday morning in conjunction with the and said the email account in question belonged to Giordano.

Berdnik said copies of some of the pornographic photos were located on a computer in Giordano's residence, in addition to being located on the email account.
