“The theater’s Board of Directors thought long and hard about who the first performer on this special occasion should be,” said Board Member Frank Bruno. “We then realized New Jersey’s own Bucky Pizzarelli was born on January 9, 1926, and still performs throughout the state at the age of 88. So the board members thought he would be the perfect person to have at this historic celebration. As many know, Bucky Pizzarelli has performed with Benny Goodman and Les Paul and appeared on the Johnny Carson Show.”
Pizzarelli has been playing jazz guitar since the early 1950’s. Known as the master of the seven string guitar, he has worked for NBC and ABC, has toured with Vaughn Monroe, Benny Goodman, Zoot Sims, Stephane Grappelli, and others. He has played with for Presidents Reagan and Clinton, and played electric guitar for Miles Davis. He will be performing with his quartet, all of whom performed with Frank Sinatra.
Tickets are $30 in advance; $25 for seniors and veterans; and $35 at the door. Tickets may be purchased online at http://bucky-at-the-brook.eventbrite.com.
