Comedy Show to Raise Money for Child Advocates

The third annual Comedy Night to benefit the (CASA SHaW) will be held Jan. 25 to benefit the organization.

The program will be held Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. at the Somerville Elks Lodge on Union Avenue in Bridgewater.

CASA SHaW is a non-profit organization with the goal of recruiting, training, screening and supervising community volunteers who can act as court advocates for children who have been abused and neglected, and are living in foster care. These volunteers—including Warren residents Carin Blatteis, Joe Westlein, Denise Powers and Jennifer Holmes —are appointed by a family court judge to aid in determining the best outcome for the child’s future.

The event, which will raise money through the program, will feature performances by three comedians—Robin Fox, of Gilda’s Club; Gotham Comedy Club’s Rodney Laney; and Gotham Comedy Club’s Tim Hayes.

Sponsors of the event include John Gannon, of Basking Ridge; Thomas Dilts, Esq. of Somerville; Jephens Technologies, of Whippany; and the People Care Center, of Bridgewater.

“It isn’t too late to be a sponsor for this event,” said Tracey Heisler, executive director of CASA SHaW, in a release about the event. “We welcome everyone’s support for our mission, and what a great way to help—have a laugh and do good all at the same time. We hope that the community at large will come out and support this event.”

The event—to be held from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.—will include a cocktail hour with a cash bar, buffet dinner and the comedy club, as well as a 50/50 raffle. Tickets can be purchased for $50 through Jan. 18, and $55 after.

To purchase tickets, visit the website at casashaw.org, or contact the office at 908-689-5515.
