This year's Warren Car Show, sponsored by Warren Firefighters, will be featuring cars that will entice race fans young and old.
"We are putting together an exciting event to be held at the Warren Car Show on Sept. 11, at the Warren Township Municipal Grounds -- an outdoor Pinewood Derby, surrounded by hundreds of the coolest classic cars on the planet!" organizer Mike Fogarty said.
In conjunction with Cub Scout Pack 182, the show will host races open to anyone.

"Kids and parents of any age can build or bring any past Pinewood Derby car ever raced, regardless of age, as long as it meets the traditional Pinewood Derby entry criteria," he said.
Fogarty notes the event will not be an official derby, but an event designed "just for some extra fun and excitement for all past, present, and future Scouts!"

"Even if you do not want to race a car at the derby, it will be a great time for the kids to see all the antique cars, watch the derby, and see some Scout rocket cars in action, too," he said.
Competitions will be held for "Best Scout Spirit," "Coolest Design," "Most Patriotic" and "Most Looks Like Food."
The car show will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 11, with the Derby starting at 11:30 a.m. at the municipal complex.
