School Bus Causes Four-Car Accident, Sends One to Hospital in Warren

The school bus crashed into a car causing a chain reaction which involved three cars in total in Warren, police say.

WARREN, NJ — A school bus driven by a Somerville local rear ended a Martinsville driver which caused a four-car crash in Warren on Friday, police report.

Margaret T. Philephs, 48, of Somerville was driving the Watchung Hills Regional School District bus on Feb. 3 at 4:44 p.m. on Liberty Corner Road near Westgate Drive when she rear ended Alan F. Mckay, 44 of Martinsville, Warren Police report.

The crash caused Mckay's car to Christopher Lawrence, 47 of Warren who then crashed into Daniel Escobar, 23, of Wharton.

There was one juvenile student on the bus at the time of the crash.

Mckay was transported to Morristown Memorial Hospital by Liberty Corner EMS.

No other injuries were reported.

Mckay's car was towed from the scene. Philephs was issued a summonses for careless driving.
