Two tractor-trailers collided en route to New Jersey, leaving two seriously hurt and creating major delays, transportation officials say.

Two tractor-trailers collided en route to New Jersey, leaving two hurt and creating major delays, transportation officials said.
The crash happened on the westbound upper level of the George Washington Bridge around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Traffic was diverted to the westbound lower level, according to WABC-TV. Backups were still being reported at 8 a.m. The upper deck was still closed in both directions as of 8 a.m, according to 511nj.org, the state Department of Transportation's traffic website.

Delays were at least an hour for Manhattan-bound drivers, according to nj.com. Traffic is backed up beyond the approach to the bridge and causing delays on the Turnpike and Route 80.
The two tractor- trailer drivers were injured. We'll have more information when it's available.
