Victor Alfieri, a who is spearheading the project, said town official gave him permission to start working on the project there.

“It’s going to be really great, for a lot of people and for the town,” said Alfieri, who is working with a group of dedicated residents to complete the project.

The garden will be broken up into dozens of small plots of land. Residents could pay between $30 and $80 in dues for each plot they own.

Participants will be allowed to plants and vegetables, but with some exceptions.

The group wants the garden to provide residents with an opportunity to work together, learn, and meet new people.

Erica Evans, and a member of the group, said that this garden could bring the community together like nothing else can.

The group also said that it can be used as a tool to teach children about the benefit of sustainable living.
