Concertgoer Reportedly Stabbed At Summer Jam At MetLife Stadium, Report Says

A 'person of interest' was in custody, state police said.

A fan attending the Hot 97 Summer Jam concert at MetLife Stadium Sunday was stabbed in the head, State Police said.

Authorities said the wound was non-life-threatening and that a "person of interest" in the assault was in custody, The Record reported.

An investigation is being conducted, the report said.

The victim was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center for treatment, state police said in the report.

Officials cancelled the pre-concert "Festival Village" event scheduled to start at 3 p.m. outside the stadium due to the threat of severe thunderstorms, according to the report.

It is the second consecutive year a violent event occurred at the festival.

State Police used tear gas outside the festival gates last year after riots reportedly broke out last year. A state police armored vehicle tear gassed the crowd because concert goers, angry the gates were closed, threw bottles.
