All Lanes Of I-80 Reopen After Crash, Tractor-Trailer Fire In Paterson

The crash, and resulting fuel spill and fire closed the interstate's westbound lanes, and backed up traffic for several hours.

PATERSON, NJ — After a crash and tractor-trailer fire closed I-80 on Monday morning near the Paterson exit, the highway has fully reopened.

The crash and fuel spill were reported around 4:18 a.m, west of Exit 60 for NJ Route 20. All westbound lanes of I-80 were closed for some time, and there were eastbound delays as well with officials closing several lanes temporarily.

The crash and fire created traffic delays through the morning rush hour.

Officials have not said if anyone was injured as a result of the crash. The highway reopened by about 9 a.m.
