Miello, is a well-known coach within the North Jersey football community. He coached at Hackensack High School and Ramapo High School for 28 years before retiring. He won five state sectional championships.

Miello said he has always had a great deal of respect for Wayne’s athletic programs.

“I competed against them for all those years. We had some incredible games against both schools,” Miello said. “Both programs have been extremely well run.”

Miello said the job presents a unique set of challenges.

“Our biggest challenge will be to bring the schools together and maintain the standard of excellence that the district has in its athletic program, but also maintain the identities of both schools,” Miello said.
