Photos: Tractor-Trailer Catches Fire On Rt. 46 In Little Falls
The fire occurred near the Great Notch Inn on Route 46 West Monday night.
LITTLE FALLS, NJ — A tractor-trailer caught fire on Route 46 West Monday night, a resident who lives nearby where the fire occurred said.
Ashley Oblinger was at his Little Falls home when he heard an explosion "that shook the house," at 8:21 p.m. that woke his 6-month-old child up. He and neighbors walked outside to see what happened.
Oblinger said it looked like the truck "literally exploded in transit."

"I thought someone crashed into our building," Oblinger said.
The fire occurred near the Great Notch Inn, near where the junction for routes 46 and 3 is.

New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeff Flynn referred a reporter to the Little Falls Police Department. A member of the Little Falls Police Department was not available for comment.
All lanes were closed on Route 46 West and a detour was put in place, 511nj.org, the state's emergency traffic notification service, reported Monday night.
