Tractor Fire Closes Part Of Route 287 Friday Morning

No one was injured. Firefighters worked quickly and extinguished the blaze, police said.

Local firefighters extinguished a state-owned tractor that caught fire on Route 287 Friday morning.

Riverdale police and firefighters responded to the fire on Route 287 North by exit 52, authorities said. The tractor was engulfed in flames.

The Riverdale Fire Department and the Pompton Lakes Riverdale First Aid Squad responded and extinguished the fire.

Lanes were shut down on Route 287, delaying traffic for an hour, police said.
