2 Killed After SUV Smashes Into House, Catches Fire In South Jersey: Reports

The SUV and the house caught fire, entrapping and killing the driver and passenger, according to reports.

HARRISON TOWNSHIP, NJ — Two people are dead after a vehicle struck a house Saturday in a crash that caused a fire in Gloucester County, according to reports.

An SUV drove into a home around 6:30 p.m. on Banff Drive in the Mullica Hill section of Harrison Township, according to CBS News. The SUV and the house caught fire, entrapping and killing the driver and passenger inside the vehicle.

The family inside the house was unhurt, reports NBC10 Philadelphia.

"By the grace of God, the family inside the house was not in the room that the car crashed into, and were able to escape safely unharmed," Harrison Township Police Chief Ronald Cundey told the news outlet.

It's unclear what caused the crash, but it appears to be accidental, according to NBC10.
