Colene Rasp Indicted for Good Samaritan Burglary

A Westville woman who allegedly burglarized a home in the Colonial Manor section of West Deptford after getting help from the homeowner after a car breakdown has been indicted on charges of burglary and theft.

said Colene Rasp, 33, stole $3,200 worth of stuff from a home on Lafayette Avenue just days after Christmas last year.

after finding out the homeowner was going to be away for much of the day on Dec. 27, 2011, and grabbed an iPad, jewelry and gift cards, West Deptford police said.

She was caught a day later, after an investigation turned up the items at a local pawn shop.

Rasp was indicted last week on charges of third-degree burglary and third-degree theft by unlawful taking, and could face several years in prison, if convicted.
