Explosive Fire Guts Building At South Jersey Junkyard
Heavy smoke could be seen throughout the area as a small building went up in flames.
FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ — Multiple explosions caused a fire Friday that destroyed a Gloucester County junkyard's building.
The gas-fed fire torched one of Porchtown Recycler's buildings, which emanated heavy smoke that could be seen throughout the Franklin Township area late Friday afternoon.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze, containing it to the small building. There were no injuries.

Firefighters from throughout South Jersey responded, including crews from Salem, Cumberland and Atlantic Counties. Gloucester County's HazMat crew also assisted at the scrap-metal junkyard.

Route 40 was closed for a few hours as crews extinguished the fire and cleared the scene.
