West Deptford, NJ – April 17, 2014 – The West Deptford High School Fine Arts Department and the National Art Honor Society proudly present “Life through the Teenage lens” featuring the art of West Deptford High School students. All are invited to the opening reception which will be held at the West Deptford Library Gallery on Thursday, April 17, 2014 from 6-8 PM. There will be live music and refreshments. Artwork is for sale and all proceeds go to the artist.
The students, who range from grades 9 through 12 and are 15 to 18 years of age, give you a glimpse into their lives and interests in this mixed media show of their work. Many different media are included-- from digital photography to painting. The students illustrated their favorite song lyrics using Adobe Photoshop and made Photo re-creations of famous photographs. They were inspired by contemporary graphic designers and adapted inspirational quotes about success into original photographs. The students made drawings and took photographs using techniques they learned in class. The images on view creatively reflect scenes from their everyday lives and ideas from their imagination. There’s even a life sized mermaid on display!
The West Deptford Library is located at 420 Crown Point Road, West Deptford, NJ. They are open Monday- Thursday from 10-9, Friday 10-5, Saturday 10-3 and Sunday 1-5 PM and their phone number is (856) 845-5593. “Life through the Teenage Lens” will be on view until May 28, 2014. http://www.westdeptford.lib.nj.us/Art_Gallery_Archives/Through%20the%20Teen%20Lens%20Student_Art_April2014.htm
