NJ 5-Year-Old Dies After Drowning In Pool
A neighbor and the boy's mother pulled the boy from the pool on Sunday afternoon before starting CPR.
UNION, NJ — A five-year-old boy has died on Tuesday after falling into a pool on Sunday in Union Township, said Deputy Chief Barry Cohen.
"The juvenile victim from the medical aid incident at 2454 N. 3rd Street that occurred on Aug. 9 has unfortunately passed away," said Cohen.
The drowning happened on Sunday at 2:52 p.m. when Union Police were called to 2454 N. 3rd St.,

Police found a neighbor in the backyard performing CPR on a five-year-old boy who had fallen into a pool at the child’s home, said Cohen.
The boy was removed from the pool by the neighbor and the boy's mother.

The boy was non-responsive.
Officers immediately took over life-saving measures along with Union Firefighters and EMS personnel.
The child was taken to a local area hospital in critical condition. He was pronounced dead on Tuesday.
The case is being investigated by the Township of Union Police Department and the Union County Prosecutor's Office.
