The flames sparked around 11 p.m. inside a two-story home at 908 Flora St. in Elizabeth, and the woman was rushed to the hospital where she later died, according to News12.
Police have not released the 87-year-old victim's name as of 12 noon on Sunday.

Several firefighters were burned while battling the fire and were also taken to the hospital, according to News12, while six other residents inside the home made it out safely and were being helped by the Red Cross.
One firefighter was transported to St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston and a second to Union Hospital, and their conditions were not available Sunday, according to TAPinto.net.
