Just as the majority of Westfield residents were enjoying heat and electricity after nearly two weeks without power in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, many are reporting power is out again as of 2:30 p.m. Monday afternoon.

A notice on the Town of Westfield website states the following: As of 3:10pm on Monday, November 12th, PSE&G has reported that the Sewaren substation experienced a failure between 2:30pm and 3:00pm. Parts of Westfield are currently without power. PSE&G is aware of the outage. However, PSE&G can not yet provide an ETA for power restoration

Residents on Quantuck Lane, Whittier and Harrison Avenue and Hanford Place reached out to Patch to report their outages. Franklin School is also without power.

Other areas affected include Rahway, Edison, Scotch Plains, Fanwood, Perth Amboy and Woodbridge.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
