SPRINGFIELD 'MOMTREPRENEUR' WINS 'DRIVEN TO SUCCESS AWARD' FROM WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT ORGANIZATION

Four Years After Launching Business with $1000, The Carpet Girl LLC Founder Honored for Retail Concept that Focuses on Design

Four years after launching a business out of her home basement, Dianne Grossman (center in photo), founder of The Carpet Girl (www.thecarpetgirl.com) in Springfield, was named recipient of the Believe Inspire Grow (B.I.G.) “Driven to Success” Award at a gala at the MetLife Building in New York City.

“I am deeply honored that my peers at B.I.G. selected me for this special award, particularly given the instrumental role this organization has played in building my business,” says Grossman. “In 2012, I started The Carpet Girl in my basement with $1000, a handful of business cards, and the vision to help professional and consumer clients design spaces with high-end flooring at reasonable prices.”

Since then, the company has increased sales by over 30% each year and is now housed in a spacious Springfield show room with a knowledgeable sales staff.

The Carpet Girl provides a wide selection of superior-quality carpeting and flooring options through a highly personalized service model for discerning consumers and designers alike. Customers choose a convenient time and location to meet one-on-one with a Carpet Girl expert to discuss their flooring needs. The retailer also works with professional, insured installers in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania to service our customers.

“We created The Carpet Girl to take the pressure and uncertainty out of selecting and purchasing flooring and making it part of the design process,” explains Grossman, who began the company with her husband Seth in 2012. “More than 80% of flooring is sold by men, yet more than 80% of flooring purchases are made by women. If that’s the case, why shouldn’t women flourish in this industry?”

Grossman was named the recipient of the award via popular vote. The Award was one of nine women’s recognition awards offered by the women’s empowerment organization, B.I.G. (believeinspiregrow.com).
