Student Sexually Assualted By Union County School Security Guard: Prosecutor

Throughout the school year, the security guard allegedly touched the student victim inappropriately: prosecutor.

Elizabeth, NJ -- A security guard at an Elizabeth school was arrested for sexually assaulting a student, acting Union County Prosecutor Grace H. Park announced Thursday.

Luis Manco, 43, of Watchung is charged with second-degree sexual assault and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

Through the school year, Manco allegedly touched the victim inappropriately in various locations at Elizabeth’s iPrep Academy School No. 8 on Court Street, according to the prosecutor's report.

He was arrested without incident at the Elizabeth Board of Education offices Tuesday afternoon. 

State Superior Court Judge Regina Caulfield set bail at $100,000. He was then lodged in Union County Jail.

Manco could face between 5 to 10 years in state prison for the second-degree sexual assault charge and 3 to 5 years for the third-degree endangering the welfare of a child charge.
