A NJ Transit bus fire on I-495 delayed bus service to and from the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York on Thursday.

A NJ Transit bus fire on I-495 westbound delayed bus service to and from the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York for the Thursday evening rush hour commute, officials said.
According to NJ Transit alerts, the vehicle fire caused delays to bus lines throughout North Jersey on Thursday evening.
Bus service to/from Port Authority Bus Terminal is experiencing 15 minute delays due to an NJ TRANSIT Bus fire on I - 495 Westbound.

NJ Transit officials said that bus tickets and passes will be cross-honored on NJ Transit rail service to/from New York.

CleverCommute.com reported that the bus fire was extinguished and the vehicle towed off the scene shortly before 5 p.m. Although two westbound lanes were reopened, residual delays were expected.
