West Orange African Heritage Organization Announces Scholarship Recipients
The West Orange African Heritage Organization paid a handsome sum to four high school seniors moving on to university.

The WOAHO awarded $6,000 by way of four scholarships distributed to students in the area of African descent last Sunday.

The organization presented the scholarships in memory of  Thomas W. Holcomb Sr. this year.

Students recognized for their academic efforts, community involvement and leadership skills were: Frances Amaefuna, who will be attending Rutgers to study political science; Frank Amaefuna, who will attend University of Connecticut to study biology; Jahir Blanton, who will attend the University of New Haven to study criminal justice; and Jade Jenkins, who will attend Penn State to study business.

WOAHO is a non-profit, volunteer-based group founded in 1999 and promotes a distinction between the various African cultures present in West Orange.
