Metuchen, NJ - 920 people lost power in Metuchen Sunday afternoon after transformer caught fire on Amboy Avenue, according to NJ.com.
The transformer caught fire at noon Sunday, and Metuchen residents lost power at about 12:10 p.m., according to the report. The transformer fire created sparks that ignited a small bit ofĀ grass in someoneās front yard on Amboy Avenue. Grass and leaves burned until police put the fire out, reported NJ.com.
The outage was expected to be fixed by about 2 p.m.
