A tractor-trailer fire caused traffic delays on the New Jersey Turnpike Monday morning, according to News 12 New Jersey.

The truck, which was hauling trash, hit the center guardrail on the northbound side of the highway, near mile marker 89.9 in Edison, according to State Police.

Police said the driver was able to get out of the truck.

The left and center lanes of the outer roadway were closed for a period of time Monday morning.

The right lane of the inner roadway in that area was also blocked, the state’s traffic website said.
