Tractor-Trailer Overturns, Driver Seriously Hurt: Police

The crash occurred near Interchange 18W.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A tractor-trailer crash on the New Jersey Turnpike Wednesday afternoon shut down all lanes on one side of the highway and seriously injured a driver, State Police said.

The crash closed all northbound lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike near interchange 18W in Carlstadt, said State Police Trooper Alejandro Goez.

The crash was reported at 1:37 p.m. at mile post 113, Goez said. The tractor-trailer overturned and the driver was entrapped inside the vehicle, Goez said. Authorities extricated the driver from the vehicle and he was flown to Hackensack University Medical Center with serious injuries, he said.
