A second Ramapo Indian Hills Board of Education trustee has resigned.
According to a NorthJersey.com report, Isabelle Lanini, one of Wyckoff’s trustees on the regional school district board, confirmed her resignation this week. Her resignation comes after Franklin Lakes Trustee Debra Strauss left the board in February.
Lanini did not comment on why she left the board, but the two resignations come as the district is in the midst of choosing a new permanent Superintendent. According to the report, the board appears divided on the decision.
At first, the board voted to carry out its own Superintendent search, but reversed that decision in February and hired a search firm to carry it out. The board is looking to replace interim Superintendent Ernie Palestis, who replaced Lauren Schoen in 2013 when she left the district for a job in Mahwah.
Lanini was slated to serve on the board through the end of the year, the report said. The board is expected to announce its replacement for Strauss Monday, it said.
