Football fans, foodie fans and dance fans all have something fun to do this weekend, as do toddlers who enjoy a good book and young artists.
Here's a rundown of what's not to be missed around the village this weekend:
Cuddle up Friday morning and spend a little quiet time with your little one and introduce them to the wonderful world of reading by attending the My First Storytime program that begins at 10am at the at 24 S. Carll Avenue.
Another arts program, for older children, is also on for the calendar for Saturday as the Babylon Citizens Council On The Arts is sponsoring a Kids Art Studio Program at 281 Phelps Lane beginning at 10:00 am.
On Saturday afternoon, bundle up and get ready for some football when the Babylon Panthers take on the Hampton Bays Baymen starting at 2pm at the football field. The Panthers had a 6-2 record for the season and trampled the Baymen, whose record stands at 4-4, last week by a score of 34-7. It's expected that running back Trevor Fudim will have another outstanding game and that quarterback Sam Zamet will continue to lead his team in victory in Division IV playoff action.
Then later that night it's time to get your dancing shoes on and enjoy yourself at the Hibernians' Annual Autumn Dance that starts at 7:30pm Saturday evening at the Hibernian Hall at 27 Locust Avenue. Call 661-9649 for more information.
Then, after resting a bit on Sunday, it's time to enjoy a good meal as the fifth annual Long Island Restaurant Week event kicks off. Several Babylon Village eateries are hoping to see a lot of familiar faces stop by to enjoy a $24.95 price-fixed menu that will be offered until 7pm next Saturday. Participating restaurants include the , , Post Office Café, and the .
