Free Child ID Card Program Running in January

Sen. Fuschillo, Sheriff's Office will co-sponsor event in Lindenhurst.

Free Child ID Card Program Running in January
State Senator Charles Fuschillo and the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office will be co-sponsoring a free identification card program for children this January.

The free identification card program is expected to take place on January 10 at the Lindenhurst Memorial Library on 1 Lee Avenue from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The New York State Safe Child Card gives parents a simple but convenient way to keep their child's important information on a single ID card, which includes name, date of birth, gender, height, weight, hair color, eye color and a fingerprint.

Safe Child Cards will be printed and processed on site and parents will be able to take the cards home with them right from the event.

Parents will also have the voluntary option to share the information on the card with the New York State Division of Criminal Justice’s Amber Alert and Missing Child Alert program in case of emergency.

Those with questions are encouraged to call the senator's office at (516) 882-0630.
