Police ID Motorcyclist Killed in Sunrise Highway Crash
Police say motorcycle collided with an SUV and a tractor-trailer Tuesday morning.

ISLIP, NY- A 41-year-old man was killed in a crash involving a motorcycle on Sunrise Highway Tuesday morning.
According to Suffolk Police, Alexander Rivera, of Mastic, was riding a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle westbound on Sunrise Highway, east of Saxon Avenue, when he struck the back bumper of an SUV as motorists were slowing down to traffic at about 8:10 a.m.
Rivera then struck the back of a tractor-trailer, lost control of his motorcycle and fell off, police said.

Rivera was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the SUV, a 39-year-old Mastic woman, and the driver of the tractor-trailer, a 62-year-old Rockaway Park man, were not injured.
The investigation is continuing and detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
