Birchbox and Family-to-Family Bring Holiday Beauty Packages to Women in Need, Inc.
Birchbox and Family-to-Family bring donated beauty gift boxes to women in need this holiday season.
Joining forces with the nonprofit poverty relief organization Family-to-Family and beauty website Pretty Connected, Birchbox, a leading beauty and grooming e-commerce company, has donated Birchboxes filled with beauty products to Women In Need, Inc., a nonprofit organization serving homeless women and their families in New York City. The boxes will be given out as holiday gifts to homeless women at some of Win’s 11 city shelters over the next two weeks.
More than thirty Birchbox employees gathered together in their Manhattan offices last week to fill stacks of boxes with products donated by the company, as well as decorate each one with handwritten holiday cards.

The event came about after “The Do Good Division,” an internal group of employees at Birchbox that plans events that provide employees with opportunities to give back to the community, chose Family-to-Family’s “Share Your Beauty” program for the holiday season.
“Our goal with Birchbox’s ‘Do Good Division’ is to give back in any way we possibly can,” says Kerrie Lopez, Senior Manager of Brand Partnerships at Birchbox. “Our subscribers always tell us that Birchbox feels like a surprise gift each month, so we were really inspired by Family-to-Family this holiday season to spread the Birchbox love through boxes of beauty products to local women in need.”

“We’re thrilled Birchbox picked Share Your Beauty as their Holiday giving-back project,” says Pam Koner, Family-to-Family’s founder. “Their support for our efforts to put a bit of ‘feel good sparkle’ into the lives of women struggling to get by is priceless.”
“Share Your Beauty” was launched in June 2014 by Family-to-Family and beauty blogger Lara Eurdolian as a way to re-purpose unopened, beauty industry excess products. To date, over 20,000 beauty products, including make-up, body creams, hair care items, nail polish and fragrances have been donated and distributed by Family-to-Family to organizations that serve struggling women and teens in the New York area.
“The holidays can be a very stressful time for the women in our shelters who are going to great lengths to provide the very basics for their families, and have nothing to spare for holiday gifts much less to spend on themselves,” said Win President and CEO, Bonnie Stone. “Through the generosity of Birchbox and Share Your Beauty, the holidays will be a little brighter for these women.”
This Share Your Beauty event was the third held by Family-to-Family since the program launched. The previous events, also in New York City, provided beauty products and cosmetic bags for women in crisis at Henry Street Settlement and for teens in foster care at Good Shepherd Family Services.
