UPDATE: Body on Route 22 Not Hit by Car
Police are investigating how the Poughkeepsie resident came to the shoulder of a Bedford road.

The body of Poughkeepsie resident Raymond Kelly, 47, is now in the hands of the Westchester County Medical Examiner, according to news reports.
Kelly’s body was seen before dawn on the south side of Route 22 in Bedford by a commuter headed to work, the Poughkeepsie Journal reported.
Bedford Police Lt. Matthew Hawley said it does not appear that he was hit by a car, the PoJo reported.

Police identified the man, Raymond Kelly, News12 reported.

Route 22 is closed in both directions between Gordon Avenue and State Hwy 172 in Bedford while an accident is investigated.
The closing was announced at 6:30 am by state transportation officials. It could last up to four hours.
