Official: Mrs. Green's is Not Moving into Ex-Borders Site Official: Mrs. Green's is Not Moving into Ex-Borders Site

Contrary to a posting on its website, organic grocery store chain Mrs. Green's is not moving into the former Borders Books and Music site in downtown Mount Kisco, a representative with the company that handles its real estate matters told Patch.

The posting for new "Mt. Kisco East" store lists 162 E. Main St. as the location for a new store, which is the former Borders site that has been vacant since the bookstore chain closed two years ago. The listing is a misprint, according to a representative from The Dartmouth Company, and will be removed. The representative could confirm, however, that Mrs. Green's is staying at its current Mount Kisco location at 666 Lexington Ave. Its plans include a renovation of the store.

Officials who handle the former Borders site could not be reached for comment.

The property, which is listed as 22,500 square feet, is currently the subject of a foreclosure lawsuit. The plaintiff, a limited liability company managed by LNR, the mortgage's special servicer, alleges that landlord Mt. Kisco Associates, LP defaulted on a $6.3 million loan that was taken out in 2007 and has a maturity for 2017. The landlord, in a response court filing, denies that there was a default and is seeking a dismissal of the case. There have been no new public court documents submitted for the case since late May.
