Theft at CVS Leads to Grand Larceny Charge

A 31-year-old woman from Fresh Meadows, Queens, is accused of stealing about $3,500 worth of items from the CVS in Bedford.

Bedford Police charged Aliyah Black in the Dec. 2012 crime after she surrendered herself last week. She's facing a felony charge of third-degree grand larceny.

The initial complaint mentioned three women who Dec. 2 "left the store without paying for items," authorities say. During their investigation, officials recovered the items in a vehicle parked outside the store. Police then identified Black as a person of interest.

She was arraigned before Judge Erik P. Jacobsen, pending an appearance in court at a later date.

Police consider the investigation an open one.
