Unusual Suspects: Psychic Charged With Fraud; Brothers Charged in Storm Grate Theft; Neglected Cats

Brothers Allegedly Steal Storm Drain Grates and Scrap Metal

Three Harrison brothers face misdemeanor charges for allegedly stealing storm drain grates and scrap metal over the last two months. Area scrap metal yards value the grates at approximately $50. Four grates were stolen before police were given a lead by the Journal News facilities manager, who reported that two men stole scrap metal from a dumpster on his property.

The rescued 16 neglected cats from a private Yorktown residence on an anonymous tip. The homeowners were reported to be in the hospital and the cats were allegedly left without care. The home was deemed unfit for occupation by animals or people. Many of the cats were living inside the walls and ceiling and are being treated for ear and skin infections.


A Tarrytown woman reported that her 2008 Honda Accord was sprayed with Silly String while the vehicle was parked on Hillside Street. She believes she knows who did it.

Psychic Charged With Fraud

A woman claiming she has psychic powers and calls herself “Carmella” was charged with fraud after allegedly scamming a White Plains woman out of $3,000 to $4,000, reports LoHud.com.
