Car Stolen in Westchester Discovered at Boston Airport

A man who was asking people in downtown Port Chester for "a ride to the airport" is being sought for stealing a 82-year-old man's car and knocking the victim to the ground as he drove off, according to Port Chester Police.

The stolen 2013 Nissan Altima was found two days later by police in Massachusetts, who discovered the car at Logan International Airport in Boston.

The car was stolen at about 6:41 a.m. Friday from the 82-year-old Port Chester man after he had stopped at a store on North Main Street. Police said that when the victim arrived at the store, a man asked him for a ride to the airport.

The victim, police said, left his car running in front of the store and when he came back outside the man who had asked for a ride was sitting in the driver's seat of the Nissan. The victim confronted the man, who then drove the car away and in the process knocked the victim to the ground.

The 82-year-old victim was taken to Greenwich (CT) Hospital for treatment.

Police said they learned that the man who stole the car had been inside the Main Street store asking customers for a ride, although the man was not familiar to customers or workers at the store.

Massachusetts police notified Port Chester police on Sunday that they had recovered the stolen car at Logal Airport.

No arrest  has been made yet in connection with the theft. Police said the man who stole the car was described as white, about 6 feet tall, bald, who wore a white jacket and sunglassed.
