Eastchester Fire Department Seeks to Clear Up Confusion over Water Bills
Eastchester residents do not have to pay the surcharge because the town is continuing to collect the fee in the local tax bill.

Officials from the Eastchester Fire Department are informing residents of the town and its two villages, Bronxville and Tuckahoe, about a change to their water bills.
Residents of Bronxville and Tuckahoe will have to begin paying a โMUNICIPAL PUBLIC FIRE PROTECTION SURCHARGE (MPFP)โ because the villages no longer collect it, as part of a change by United Water.
Eastchester residents do not have to pay the surcharge because the town is continuing to collect the fee in the local tax bill, according to an email to residents from Fire Commissioner Jerry Napolitano.

โWe are in the process of correcting this problem with The Town of Eastchester and United Water,โ Napolitano wrote.
