School Superintendent, Local Police to Be Honored at Giuseppe Garibaldi Lodge Scholarship Dinner

EASTCHESTER, NY — The Giuseppe Garibaldi Lodge will be honoring Dr. Walter R. Moran III, Ed.D., Superintendent of Eastchester Schools, as Man of the Year at its 12th annual Scholarship Dinner.

Also honored will be Alexandria Tucci as Miss Columbus—2016 and the local Police Departments of Bronxville, Tuckahoe and Eastchester.

The 12th annual dinner will be held Friday, October 14 at The Fountainhead in New Rochelle. It celebrates Italian Culture and Heritage by honoring local individuals for their various accomplishments in their chosen fields of endeavor and for their dedication to the community, according to organizers.

Moran will be honored for his leadership and commitment to the children of the Eastchester School District previously as Middle School Principal and currently as Superintendent of Schools.

The organizers will recognize the local police departments of Bronxville, Tuckahoe and Eastchester for the risks they take each and every day to protect and serve Bronxville, Tuckahoe and Eastchester families and for their continued commitment to those communities.

Tucci will be honored for her commitment to the Italian Heritage and Culture and her dedication to the study of the Italian language and will receive a four-year college scholarship from The Generoso Pope Foundation.

The Scholarship Dinner is sponsored by the Giuseppe Garibaldi Lodge #2583 – Order Sons of Italy in America, together with The Columbus Day Committee of Eastchester & Tuckahoe, and The Generoso Pope Foundation.
