Missing Brooklyn Man Found Dead In Creek Near Home: NYPD

Dennis Bennett had been missing for two days when police found him in the Shell Bank Creek Sunday evening, officials said.

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK -- A Brooklyn man who went missing Friday was found dead in a creek near his home two days later, police said.

Dennis Bennett, 64, was discovered in the Shell Bank Creek near Knapp Street and Harkness Avenue in Sheepshead Bay Sunday evening just after 9:05 p.m., said police.

Bennett disappeared from his home on East 35th Street near Quentin Road Friday afternoon, according to police.

The Medical Examiner has yet to determine what caused Bennett's death and the investigation remains ongoing.

His family has been notified.
