Have you heard of the honey bees crisis before? If your answer is no, read this article in detail and you will not regret reading it, as this article will attempt to make you aware of the designs that could be friendly to bee and why those tiny bees are so vital for the human race.

According to the latest researches, the native bees are responsible for pollinating crops more than the honeybees. The reason for encouraging the growth of honey bees has to do a lot with the support for the wildlife habitat, among many other things. The role of honey bees in the ecosystem is imperative for all the beings in the system. The pollination of more than one-third of the crop is done by the honey bees. This means that the food we eat is a result of the pollination done via the honey bees.

And the honeybees’ crisis is triggering due to the frequent use of harmful chemicals on the crops, which is directly reducing the chances of pollination. In other words, there is a need to avoid the pesticides which are harmful to the honeybees and go back to use of hand to mow the garden rather than looking for convenience.

Different Types

When it comes to the variety of the honey bees, it is important to know what type of honeybee is responsible for a pollination to create awareness about the role they play in our lives, which is often overlooked by the architects and house designers. For example, the orange poppies and deep blue ceanothus entice the native bees better than the other types of flowers. In other words, this particular type of poppies can be planted in the house gardens. Some of the researchers recommend that homeowners and people, in general, should plant flowers of various types, as the varieties of bees are attracted by the large band of colored plants and flowers. This means that the different sizes and colors of flowers will be beneficial for all types of bees.

Food

Even though home garden cannot be planted with a myriad of flower types to encourage and support the pollinator bees, however, if you plant few of them, the result will be beyond your expectations in terms of providing the food to the bees in a limited space in addition to bolstering the pollination of flowers and plants. Native plants are also preferred by the native bees. In simple words, the native plants can be planted to encourage the growth of the native pollinators.

In terms of the food, the nectar of the flowers and pollen protein is needed by the bees to feed young ones; however, some of the plants provide one of the elements. It means both the requirements mentioned above are necessary for the growth of bees. Though most of the plants are useful when it comes to making a house that has pollinator friendly plants and flowers, however, if the aster family is planted, it has the central disk which is an additional perk for the insects and bees along with pollen and the nectar. This means the disk is a source of food for the bees and it serves as the convenient area for the bees to land as well.

Water

Although the significance of water cannot be denied for all the living beings, however, the value of water for the insects is underestimated by many. Therefore, experts suggest that you choose all those options which will not only make your garden look pretty, but it would also provide a source of water to the pollinating bees and other insects. Furthermore, the role of minerals and soil cannot be ignored either, as they are essentials for the insects, this does not mean that the mud or minerals will have to be separately embedded in the garden area, but the point is to highlight that the use of harmful chemicals in the mud may not be very helpful for the insects and bees in particular.

Sunlight

The advantages of the sunlight are uncountable when it comes to human beings and ecosystem in general, however, when it comes to making and designing houses that are eco-friendly, it means that the structures can be chosen which are good source of sunlight for you and the bees out there who come or live in the household for the food and pollination of flowers. Even though the faux brick wall panels are not directly relevant to the support of the bees and to prevent the bees’ crisis, however, the advantage of the wooden appearance of the panel can play a role in providing a spot or option for the nesting.

Role of shaded Areas

Though some of the experts prefer to get the readymade covered structures in order to make the nest for the bees, however, the places to raise the little bees can be made at home, as long as it is serving the main purpose of shelter for the eggs. Furthermore, the ground nesting is another type that is not discussed; the native bees prefer the empty holes in the ground for nesting, while other types of the insects and honey bees dig the holes in the earth from scratch. Similarly, the holes in the wood are also used by the specific types of bees.

Use of Harmful Chemicals

As it has been mentioned earlier, one of the main causes of aggravating bees’ crisis is a consequence of the excessive and frequent use of the harmful chemical products in the garden and planting areas, particularly, where native bees and honey bees are found or where they are likely to pollinate the flowers and plants. Similarly, the pesticides have the potential to hamper the natural cycle which is supporting the ecosystem. Despite the target of the chemical products at the bad bugs, the useful or necessary insects are also killed. This means the use of pesticides cannot be distinguished or should not be encouraged due to the harmful effect to all the insects and bees required for the smooth functioning of the ecosystem.
