Grand Prix New York Fundraiser Helps Raise $1,450 for the Community Center of Northern Westchester

Grand Prix New York put their Mount Kisco space to good use Dec. 3 when they hosted a fundraiser to benefit The Community Center in Katonah.

Grand Prix New York put their space to good use on December 3rd, when they hosted a fundraiser to benefit The Community Center of Northern Westchester. The goal of the event was to help raise food and money to aid those in need during the holiday season.

GPNY invited patrons and businesses of Westchester County to lend their support in any way they could for a day including contests, drink specials and visits from local sports guests. PGA Pro Brian Crowell and Mark Jeffers hosted a special 2-hour “Clubhouse Holiday Special Sponsored by 2UNDR” that aired lived from the event on AM 1490 WGCH. Miss Teen Westchester 2015, Jordan Decker, was also on hand to donate food and show support.

The fundraiser received an excellent turnout with so many contributing to the cause. In total, $1,450 was raised and 900 pounds of food was collected. The companies that participated in donating food and money were A.G. Williams Painting Company,Corporate Audio Visual Services, County Waste Management, Diamond Properties,Events To Remember, Grand Prix New York, Home Green Advantage, Rey Insurance, and Venator Sales Group.

“We at GPNY could not be more pleased about the success of this fundraiser,” said Nat Mundy, Executive Vice President Sales & Marketing, Grand Prix New York. “We were happy to have a hand in helping the great people at the Community Center collect donations for families in need during the holiday season.”

The Community Center provides food and clothing to nearly 2,000 households in need in 37 Northern Westchester communities. They offer practical tools to help neighbors reach self-sufficiency, such as job counseling, construction skills, computer and English language classes, health screenings, nutrition workshops, and guidance in accessing other services. During the holiday season, they share special foods for the holidays, as well as new children’s pajamas.

“The Community Center is grateful to the folks at Grand Prix and AM 1490 WGCH for helping us spread the word about the Center and the need for food donations to help our neighbors who don’t have enough to eat, “ said Sherry Wolf, Executive Director, Community Center of Northern Westchester. “Grand Prix was so generous with their space and employees, and makes everyone who comes to donate feel really terrific.”
