The Commack Community Association met at the newly renovated Thursday night to discuss several community issues:

Green Homes in Smithtown

Guest speakers Allyson Murray and Kelly Brown discussed a program in conjunction with the New York State Energy Research and Development Agency. The program, which offers free energy audits for families with an annual income below $200,000, provides a reduced energy cost incentive to improve energy efficiency in homes. Contact the Town of Smithtown Planning Department for more information.

More Townline Road

The Commack Community Association continued discussion of the and discussed Indian Head Road as an alternative route. Informational community fliers were proposed.

Possible LIPA Power Plant

CCA discussed LIPA possibly using the industrial area on Old Northport Road for a power plant. However, this is still only a possibility, as LIPA is currently looking at many different sites on Long Island.

Marion Carll Farm

Many members of the CCA expressed further . To ensure a more transparent process, an RFP (request for proposal) will be put out in the fall where discussions on the fate of Marion Carll Farm will continue.
