East Hampton Garden Club selected two East Hampton High School seniors.

PHOTO: Students Set To Study Big Reed Pond

Two East Hampton High School seniors have been selected for the East Hampton Garden Club's research project, the high school announced on Monday.

Jacqueline Smudzinski and Andrew Dixon will conduct environmental/botanical research, studying Big Reed Pond Preserve. The Third House Nature Center in Montauk will monitor the project.

The students will work three hours per week to identifying plant species and animal species. They will receive a $1,500 scholarship each at the end of the project.
