Photos: Littlest Volunteers Help Spread Thanksgiving Cheer To Needy

Needy East End families will have a warm meal after a Turkey Drive on Saturday.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — If there's anything that could bring a bigger smile to the face of someone in need than a turkey to feed their family on Thanksgiving, it's seeing the face of a child delivering that turkey to their door.

That's what happened Saturday when dedicated volunteers gathered to deliver Thanksgiving cheer and turkeys to the needy.

The Clamshell Foundation and Camp Soulgrow hosted their 3rd Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Drive on Saturday, dedicated in loving memory to Clamshell Foundation founder Rossetti Perchik, organizers said.

The event kicked off at the Amagansett IGA with the kids from Camp Soulgrow; 108 free turkeys were distributed to those in need on the East End.

And the event touched hearts across the board, organizers said.

"It warms my heart to see children so excited about the turkey drive and understanding the importance of giving back to the community. Events like these help teach kids that they can make a difference for people in need," said Kori Peters of The Clamshell Foundation.

After all the deliveries were finished, the day of giving was capped off with a special feast at the Montauk Fire Department, organizers said.
