'Pockets of Tension' Growing in East Hampton

Article in 'New York Times' points to tension boiling out of overcrowded homes in parts of East Hampton, and into town hall.

'Pockets of Tension' Growing in East Hampton

In case you missed it, the New York Times ran a piece on Monday on what it calls growing "pockets of tension" in East Hampton Town.

Pointing to Springs, an area where Hispanic population tripled in size from 2000 to 2010, the article states, "Some longtime residents of the Springs and similar areas complain that homes are being illegally crowded, that houses with half a dozen cars parked outside are a blight on the street, and that the many children living inside are overwhelming the local schools and causing property taxes to rise."

East Hampton Patch has covered different developments as they have occurred over time, though to read the entire New York Times piece, click here.
