Thanksgiving Recipe: 'Quick and Easy' Cranberry Soup

We've asked local chefs to submit their favorite recipes that are appropriate for the Thanksgiving table. Here's Executive Chef Kevin Penner's "quick and easy" recipe for cranberry sauce.

  • 3 c. cranberries
  • juice of 1 orange
  • zest of two oranges
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • two cinnamon sticks
  • 2 c. maple syrup  

Put everything into a sauce pan, bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook until the berries pop.  For a ticker sauce, cook it until it reaches your desired consistency.
