LIPA: More than 400 Still Without Power in East Meadow

Sixteen days after Hurricane Sandy hit Long Island, 453 customers are still without power as of 12:30 p.m., according to LIPA.

Residents expressed their anger and frustration toward LIPA on East Meadow Patch's Facebook page , saying that they feel abandoned by the company and that have not been given straight answers after spending days in cold and dark homes with small children and pets.

Acting Presiding Officer an East Meadow resident, told Patch that she was reassured that all residents would have their power back by Tuesday night.
