Small Plane Crashes Into Woods Off Southern State Parkway
BREAKING: The one-person plane crashed into a wooded area on the Southern State Parkway Saturday afternoon on Long Island, police say.

EAST FARMINGDALE, NY — A plane went down in East Farmingdale Saturday afternoon, the New York State Police Department said.
The one-person plane crashed on the Southern State Parkway westbound between Exits 32 and 33 into a wooded area, police told Patch. No one was seriously injured, police said. The crash happened around 4 p.m.
The plane was approaching Republic Airport to land on a runway when it crashed about one mile south of it, ABC7 reported. The Mooney M20R plane reportedly lost power.

The right and center lanes near Route 110 were blocked, according to 511 NY.
