Plans are being finalized for Nassau County's Second Annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration, set to be held Saturday at Old Bethpage Village Restoration, County Executive Edward P. Mangano announced.

The revised line-up, which includes live music, a craft fair and traditional food, will be held Saturday, March 9 from noon to 5 p.m.  Admission is free.

Irish entertainment will include the Irish Rock Bands: The Legendary Murphy’s and the Sporting Paddies. There will also be a performance by the Donny Golden School of Irish Dance and bagpipers.

Traditional Irish food and beverages will be offered and Irish merchandise will be available for purchase at the Fairgrounds Building and the Noon Inn.

Visitors can make their way to the Village’s Crossroads by strolling the Village roads or hopping on a horse drawn wagon.

The event is funded through the sponsorship Coastline International, the Nassau County Hotel/Motel Proceeds Grant and the Friends of Nassau County Recreation.

The Grant funds are made available to Nassau County through proceeds from taxes on hotel and motel rooms in Nassau County. Since 2006, Nassau County has received over ten million dollars from this grant, and it has assisted in historic building restoration and other cultural enhancements.

Old Bethpage Village Restoration, Nassau County’s only living history museum, is located at 1303 Round Swamp Road in Old Bethpage, one mile south of Exit 48 on the Long Island Expressway.
